Artistic Portfolio Overview

Francine Marie Theilen is a textile and printmaking artist, living and working in her studio in France, but born in San Francisco, California. She was raised in both USA and French cultures and her nomad DNA has compelled her to live in 6 countries so far, including a few islands in the Caribbean. Known for creating captivating art that blends traditional and contemporary techniques, she is a lifelong artist that received most of her training in San Francisco Bay Area colleges including SFSU, her alma mater. Francine is also influenced by her world travels, her study of anthropology, and her keen and curious eye of a 'modern mystic' and seeker.  She shows regularly in France and USA as well as contributing to local events to support creativity and the arts for her community. 'Creativity is rebellion' is one of her favorite invented mottos.
